If a tree is on a house, a car or a power line, call. For planned removals, stumps and trimming, send a request and a local company will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the right local company gets your request
- What you need: a removal, storm cleanup, a hazardous tree, stump grinding or trimming
- Roughly how big the tree is and what it's near: house, fence, wires or street
- Whether a truck can get to it or it's behind a fence or down a slope
- If it's storm damage, whether your insurance company is involved
Tree tangled in a power line? Stay well back, keep others away, and report it to your electric utility first. Virginia law bars most work within 10 feet of an overhead high-voltage line until it's made safe.
